Supply Chain Business Analysis Course
This course introduces the use of basic use cases to help analyze and define supply chain systems. Students will be introduced to a range of supply chain systems. With an emphasis on data exchange and other enabling technologies, students will be introduced to how data exchange over the internet continues to improving performance while reducing the cost of supply chain systems.
This course examines the major aspects of developing, analyzing, improving, and managing supply chain business processes. Virtually all businesses are made up of a series of sequential and/or parallel business processes, many of which cut across functional and organizational boundaries. The ability to understand and design an SCM processes is critical skill any company. In this course we will examine business processes from a variety of perspectives across different industries that rely on efficient supply chain processes. We will examine functional areas within firms, to identify well run processes. The focus of our analysis will be on how to analyze supply chain processes and how key IT aspects related to the internet and data exchange can help any organization achieve its supply chain objectives.
This introductory course is for entry-level business analysts and supply chain workers. Students will learn the fundamentals of supply chain analysis and how to use these fundamentals to develop and render a "Unified Supply Chain Model" for any organization.
The instructor is an industry specialist who has implemented several transaction networks, support supply in a range of industries including suppliers to Wal-Mart. He has analyzed and deployed supply chain systems for supply chain partners in the Canadian healthcare industry. His company implements advanced EDI and XML based transaction networks supporting ordering and customs clearance systems used across Canada.
