OVERVIEW The Supply-Chain Operations Reference-model (SCOR) contains several sections and is organized around the five primary management processes of PLAN, SOURCE, MAKE, DELIEVER, and RETURN. By describing supply chains using these process building blocks, the Model can be used to describe supply chains that are very simple or very complex using a common set of definitions. The model has been able to successfully describe and provide a basis for supply chain improvement for global projects as well as site-specific projects. The SCOR Workshop provides a comprehensive examination of the SCOR-model and offers attendees the methodology for using the SCOR-model within an organization. It is designed to support organizations that are already determined that the business case exists and are seeking more guidance on the specifics of implementing projects using SCOR. SECTIONS DAY 1 8:30 - - 12:00 Introduction and Workshop Overview SCC/ SCOR Overview Using the SCOR Model. The structure and rules for using the SCOR Model including: the scope of the Model, how to read and apply the Model, and how to make modeling decisions. The purpose of this session is to provide a foundation for participants to make modeling decisions, independently, after the workshop. Introduction to A Workshop Business Case The business case provides the reference for modeling exercises during the remainder of the workshop. The business case has been crafted from actual SCOR member cases from the last few years. 12:00 13:00 (Lunch) 13:00 16:30 Process Modeling using the SCOR Model Participants will learn how to geographically map the physical flows and craft a product thread diagram of the “as-is” supply chains. These “as-is” products will provide the framework for laying out metrics structures and developing a “to-be” model. Process Modeling using the SCOR Model (continued) DAY 2 8:30 - - 12:00 Day 2 Overview / Q&A from Day 1 SCOR Metrics Participants will review SCOR Performance Attributes, Level 1 Metrics, and issues in calculating metrics, collecting data, and benchmarking. SCOR Competitive Analysis Based on the “as-is” process models, and using the SCOR metrics, participants will conduct a competitive analysis of the supply chain and determine how the supply chain should perform to achieve business objectives. 12:00 13:00 (Lunch) 13:00 16:30 Implementing SCOR Using a real business case, participants will investigate how to develop “to-be” projects. Additionally, participants will review how to align a process description of the supply chain with an organization’s functional make-up. Issues associated with constructing, project teams, selecting modeling software, and timelines for implementation will be discusses. Several business cases from Council members will be used to illustrate the various waves to ways to implement SCOR. Summary and Discussion
